...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SOUTHEASTERN SISKIYOU
COUNTY...

At 517 PM PDT, strong thunderstorms were clustered 7 miles west of
Deer Mountain Snow Park, or 14 miles north of Mount
Shasta, moving east at 40 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Mount Shasta, Weed, Dunsmuir, Edgewood, Cattle Camp Campground,
McCloud, Mcbride Springs Campground, Carrick, Tennant, Fowlers Camp
Campground And McCloud Falls, Trout Creek Campground, Deer Mountain
Snow Park, Highway 97 Grass Lake And Mount Hebron, Bray, Mount Shasta
Bunny Flat Trail, I 5 Black Butte Summit, Mount Shasta Summit
Plateau, Pilgrim Creek Snow Park and Mount Shasta Ski Park Highway.

* This includes the following highways...
   US 97 in California between mile markers 1 and 33.
   Highway 89 in California between mile markers 11 and 34.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
